Frequently Asked Questions
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome and Edge on desktop and Android. Firefox and Safari do not currently expose the speech recognition this tool needs, so the page says so plainly instead of pretending to listen.
Is my voice recording uploaded anywhere?
This tool itself uploads nothing β the transcript is produced by your browser's recognition service. Note that Chrome and Edge may process audio through the browser maker's speech service; the transcript text stays in this page.
Why did it stop listening on its own?
Browsers end a dictation session after a pause or an error. Press Start dictation again β your existing transcript stays in the box and new words are added.
Can I edit the transcript?
Yes. The transcript box is fully editable β fix names, punctuation or anything the recogniser misheard before you copy or download it.
